The history of fuel business dates back to 1894, when coal production was started at the Shimoyamada Coal Mine in the Kyushu Chikuho Area. Responding to the so-called energy revolution, we made the most of our experiences with fuel sales, which we gained through coal sales, in starting the purchase and reselling operations for general petroleum products. At present, we sell aggregates and other non-petroleum products in addition to gasoline, kerosene, light oil, heavy oil, lubricating oil, various kinds of organic solvents, liquid petroleum gas and coke.

One of our operating companies, Furukawa Commerce Co., Ltd., is the sole trade company in the group and is aiming for a further expansion of its wide-range business operation. As such, it covers an extremely wide range of business areas, from direct management of filling stations to sales of oil related products, agency businesses related to life insurance, non-life insurance and various other insurances, sales of various machinery products including Furukawa slurry pumps, sales of Well Up, which relaxes stiff shoulders and necks, and wrecker businesses. It also promotes diversification of business operations including management of sports facilities and bowling alleys and sales of Italian wine via the Internet. Furukawa Transportation Co., Ltd. provides services for cargo transportation by truck and domestic shipping with its business center located in the Kansai District. It earns trust from many customers including the group companies, as a specialized company for the distribution of industrial products.
